The Miriam briefs are designed to be cut on the straight grain from a rigid (non-stretch) fabric such as cotton lawn, woven viscose or - if you're feeling fancy - 100% silk. They're a classic brief shape with a concealed gusset and elasticated waist and legs making them a comfy and practical pair as is. This is also a great block pattern for you to make alterations to to make the panties of your dreams.

Watch the step-by-step sewing tutorial for the Monica briefs (which are sewn up in exactly the same way as the Miriam briefs) on my YouTube channel: youtube.com/@loveandlacediy

Level of difficulty: Advanced Beginner

Included in your purchase:
- PDF sewing pattern in 3 different formats - A4, US Letter and Large Format A0
- Instructions document with a guide on how to print & assemble your pattern and sewing instructions (please note these are written instructions - this particular tutorial does not currently include photos).

You will receive a link to instantly download the files. Please note this is a digital product and you will not receive any physical goods.

The instructions will talk you through how to bag out both the front and back gusset in the one garment plus tips on how to perfectly achieve two-step elastication.

Patterns are to scale and should be printed at 100%. The A4 & Letter size documents are tiled making it easy to print at home and assemble the pattern yourself. The A0 download allows you to send the file to a print shop (or copy shop) to have the pattern printed in a large format.

The download contains the sewing pattern in UK sizes 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22 & 24. All Love & Lace patterns now feature layers! You can toggle these layers on and off in Adobe Reader to allow you to print only your chosen size.

As with any sewing project I recommend making a toile to test the fit and make the relevant adjustments before constructing the garment in your final fabrics.

If you have any questions along the way please get in touch. Happy sewing!
